REGION YEAR GRAPE VARIETIES
Germany-All 2001

All varieties & regions

Grapes developed massive fruit. Legendary at all levels, especially great for best, most complex dessert wines.
France, Alsace 2001

Gewurztraminer

As in neighboring Germany, 2001 was a great year.  Grand Crus in low $20's are fabulous quality / value buys. Stock up on this erratic wine right now.
California 1999

Zinfandel

The best recent year.  Luscious complex fruit. Great alternative to Cabernet, barolo, & other over-priced reds. Great with grilled meats, fowl.
Chile '99 & '01

Cabernet Sauvignon

Chilean prices continue to rise but still are often bargains compared to U.S. and France.
California '99 & '01

Cabernet Sauvignon

Excellent vintages with some fairly priced bottles on the shelf
California '99 & '01

Pinot Noir

Excellent vintages with some fairly priced bottles on the shelf
Australia 1998

Great values at average producers and phenomenal top-end quality. Great year still widely available.
California 2000

Chardonnay

The best are outstanding examples.  Still available.
France 2000

Bordeaux Red

Great quality at all levels. Will need on average 7 years or longer before reaching readiness for drinking.
France 2001

Sauternes

Luscious deeply-developed fruit.  Sure to appreciate and age very well under good storage conditions.
France 2002

Burgundy White

Early reports on 2002's are very encouraging. The best selection & prices for WB, Chablis, etc. are always EARLY
Italy 2000 Barolo & Barbaresco
